Meet Thelma George: Business Verification Data Entry Assistant

We like to talk about success, but we also want to showcase the people who are directly responsible for it. With our newest project in Liberia ramping up, we’re taking the opportunity to do that right from the start. At Building Markets headquarters we take pride in the fact that our national staff are loyal, dedicated and believe in the goals of our Sustainable Marketplace Initiative. Many have told us the project means so much for their countries. We couldn’t be happier.
Case in point: Thelma George, our Liberia initiative’s Business Verification Data Entry Assistant. Thelma says she “saw a need to be part of Building Markets in order to build the capacity of local businesses. These activities have to do with peace and building the economy of Liberia.” Prior to working with Building Markets, George worked as an office assistant to an insurance company. At Building Markets she assists the Country Director, Market Researcher and the business verification team.
Thelma emphasizes the importance of training local businesses so they can deliver goods and services to national and international companies working in Liberia. And what if you’re just visiting Liberia? An important thing to know is when the rainy season is. Equally important is being open to learning new things and making new friends.
