The Summer Fellowship is open to graduate students interested in gaining great hands-on experience with program implementation, by supporting Building Markets with its programs in Jordan, Turkey, and Myanmar. A work plan will be developed that aligns with the Fellow’s experience, interest, and the needs of Building Markets. The Fellow will support the team from Building Markets’ headquarters office in New York City and report to the Project Officer. Specific start dates are flexible, but the Fellow would be expected to work for approximately three months (June to August). A modest monthly stipend will be provided. The Chief Finance and Administration Office (CFAO) is a key leadership role reporting to the CEO in the areas of Finance, Compliance, and Human Resources. The role requires deep experience in financial management, strong problem solving, and analytical skills. The CFAO is responsible for directing the fiscal and HR functions of Building Markets in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, donor compliance requirements, regulatory environments in our countries of operation, and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the non-profit industry. As a member of the senior management team, the CFAO will be involved in strategic planning and its execution to meet organizational goals and will interact with the Board of Directors. The CFAO will also ensure that Building Markets can continue to grow by building strong internal systems that help to create efficiencies in finance and HR at both Headquarters and in our Country Offices, while minimizing and managing
A hands-on digital MacGyver excited about our mission and able to provide consulting services that support our technology-based initiatives. This includes managing our WordPress and Drupal sites as well as other software and systems. You will enhance the function and design of existing products and resources, and will work with management to refine strategy and improve workflows associated with Building Markets' tech. This is a flexible position that will involve 8-20 hours per week.
