Meet Our Country Director

With over 20+ years of experience in both public and private sectors, Carolina Duran is spearheading Building Markets’ operations in Latin America, starting in Colombia. Carolina previously served as the Secretary of Economic Development of Bogota and led initiatives at institutions such as Citybank. She’s earned recognition for her work in diversity and inclusion and was recently awarded woman of the decade by the Women Economic Forum in 2022. Born in Colombia, her work in the entrepreneurial ecosystem has helped promote the creation and growth of sustainable business projects in her home country. Carolina is an international speaker, innovation advisor, and member of several national and international boards such as the Global Innovation Council. Building Markets welcomes the leadership and expertise she’s bringing to this role.
