Meet Emmanuel Adams: Administration and Finance Manager

One thing we’re keen to do on Building Markets’ country blogs is help you get to know the people behind each project’s success. We like to talk about success, but we also want to showcase the people who are directly responsible for it. With our newest project in Liberia ramping up, we’re taking the opportunity to do that right from the start. Every Monday and Thursday we will introduce you to a member of the team in Liberia through this blog. Read on for one profile below.

Emmanuel Adams enjoys being a part of Building Markets. “I want to play a part in the process of shaping my country positively,” Emmanuel says. “I love being a part of Building Markets.” Prior to joining the Sustainable Marketplace Initiative in Liberia as the Administration and Finance Manager, Emmanuel was already positively impacting his country as a Voucher Examiner with USAID in Liberia.

Emmanuel also loves a lot of things about his native country. Things like his favorite local dish, palm butter. Or the fact that from an airplane, one can see how green and unspoiled Liberia is in many places. He believes local businesses in Liberia have the will and ability to improve, in turn, enabling the local marketplace to grow. But what he loves most, even more than the potential of Liberia, is playing with his two daughters and being with his wife. Watching soccer is a close second.

Emmanuel notes one interesting thing about Liberians, that they love foreigners and showing themselves off – in a good way.
