Back in 2008, when the PDM-TL team was first getting established in Timor-Leste, the three businesses owned by Timorese business woman Maria Carla Gonsalves Tilman, Carla Mansion Guest House, Arvec Construction, Lda and Prima Truss, Lda, were all registered with our online database for the first time.

Two years on, the three businesses are now employing 39 employees on a full time basis and are successfully winning tenders with national and international agencies, providing accommodation, construction supplies and services. Peace Dividend Trust was extremely happy to see how the list of contract history has developed when compared back to our initial registration in 2008.

Just a few of these contracts include the supply of construction materials to the Ministry of Health and Ministry or Education throughout 2009 and 2010 on an ongoing basis, as well as the provision of construction services for buildings and roads to institutions including the gabinete Presidente of RDTL, Ministry of Education and Policia Nacional de Timor-Leste (PNTL). The Carla Mansion Guest House has also provided accommodation to the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT) and UNICEF, to name a few during 2009/2010.

When the team went back to talk with Ms Gonsalves Tilman recently about how business had been going and the factors that helped it along, she commented that she was happy with the support that she had been receiving from PDT, in particular the provision of tender information from the Tender Distribution Service, which has provided her businesses with information on over 120 tenders.

It’s yet another great example of the leaps and bounds that Timorese business is making, as well as the invaluable support role that the PDM-TL project plays in Timor-Leste. So, drop us an email at [email protected] and get one of the team to register your business and fill you in on all the great services that we provide.
