Chuck Olson (Chuck) is a Consultant with Building Markets. In this role, he heads up data strategy where he works with teams on survey design, collection, storage, and analysis. Previously, he worked with Building Markets’ Access to Finance program. Chuck has worked in social impact, social responsibility, and policy for over a decade. This includes H+ Energy where as a business strategist he helped bring green technologies from the laboratories of Cambridge University to the market. Chuck also worked for over four years with different microfinance groups, including Caixa Comunitária de Microfinanças in Mozambique and Crediamigo in Northeastern Brazil. In addition, he worked as a Research Data Specialist for FINCA International (based out of both Washington DC, and Kampala, Uganda), training teams to conduct impact studies, assessing what programs were best helping clients escape poverty. Chuck has also worked in government policy groups and Think Tanks, using data to lobby the United States Congress for increased spending in child health programs. Chuck holds an M.B.A. from The University of Cambridge, and two B.A. degrees in History and International Studies from Brigham Young University, where he graduated with Honors. Chuck is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
