Elizabeth Brown is a strategic leader with fifteen years of experience in development, communications, and multi-stakeholder partnership building. She is a natural bridge-builder, with extensive experience in metrics-driven revenue generation for non-profit and for-profit organizations, and she is passionate about the role of the private sector in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
In her position as Head of Partnerships at Building Markets, Elizabeth leads global fundraising, strategic partnerships, and communications for the organization. Before joining the organization, Elizabeth worked at the International Rescue Committee where she structured private sector partnerships, with a specific focus on supply chain opportunities and innovative funding models.
Elizabeth’s background spans the private and non-profit sectors, with prior partnership, business development, and communications experience at Devex, Atlantic Media, and the International Justice Mission. Elizabeth received a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and is a member of the Society of Fellows with The Aspen Institute. She has lived and worked in Nairobi, Addis Ababa, Washington DC, and Los Angeles, and currently resides in New York City.
