Juan Sebastián is a Research and Analytics Officer at Building Markets, where he leverages over seven years of experience in managing and evaluating social programs, with a strong focus on gender and inclusion. He has led Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Research, and Learning (MEARL) initiatives across NGOs, delivering high-quality impact reports and ensuring ethical project management. His expertise lies in developing evidence-based strategies, contributing to knowledge management, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
Before joining Building Markets, Juan Sebastián held leadership roles at Plan International, where he managed the strategic planning department and coordinated country-wide initiatives to promote children’s rights and gender equality. His work at the Wildlife Conservation Society further developed his capacity to manage multi-country environmental conservation projects, contributing to combatting wildlife trafficking in the Andes, Amazon, and Orinoco regions.
He holds a degree in Economics from Universidad Surcolombiana and a specialization in Social Project Evaluation from Universidad de los Andes. Juan is bilingual in English and Spanish, certified as a Scrum Master and Product Owner, and proficient in tools like Stata, Tableau, and Power BI. Juan’s passion for development and sustainability continues to drive his commitment to creating positive social impact.
