There is good news for Haitian entrepreneurs. Following a period of close cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI), Peace Dividend Trust in Haiti is pleased to announce the definitive transfer to the ministry of two services with the greatest impact on the country’s commercial and industrial business sector: training and the distribution of tenders.
The two services will be provided from now on by MCI. To prepare for the transfer of these services, two professionals from the ministry worked at PDT’s Haiti office for several months.
Peace Dividend Trust (which recently changed its name to Building Markets) recently met with the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Wilson Laleau, and the President of Haiti’s Chamber of Commerce, Herve Denis, to discuss increasing the provision of local goods as a way to boost the dynamism of commercial exchanges in Haiti.
Both officials were particularly interested in the two services that have now been transferred to MCI, and they asked how we can be certain that they have been effective. PDT-Haiti has painstakingly gathered data to demonstrate the return in relation to the two services.
We have also launched a new website, www.haiti-tenders.org, that is being run by MCI. Our weekly sessions on training and networking are now being handled by MCI. Peace Dividend Marketplace-Haiti, our free online directory of more than 3,700 businesses, will continue to be available at the current Web address (http://haiti.buildingmarkets.org/) until at least September 30, 2012.

PDT va transférer des services clefs au Gouvernment Haïtien
Bonne nouvelle pour les entrepreneurs haïtiens : Après une étroite coopération avec le Ministère du Commerce et de l’Industrie (MCI), Peace Dividend Trust (qui a récemment changé son nom en Building Markets) en Haïti annonce avec plaisir le transfert définitif au MCI des deux services ayant le plus grand impact sur le secteur commercial et industriel dans le pays : la formation, et la distribution des appels d’offres.
Désormais, les deux services seront fournis par le MCI. Pour préparer le transfert de ces services, deux employés du MCI ont travaillé au bureau de PDT pendant quelques mois.
Peace Dividend Trust en Haïti a récemment rencontré le Ministre du Commerce et de l’Industrie, Wilson LALEAU, et le Président de la Chambre de Commerce et de l’Industrie en Haïti, Herve DENIS, au sujet de l’augmentation de l’approvisionnement local afin d’accroitre le dynamisme des échanges commerciaux en Haïti.
Ces deux leaders haïtiens ont été particulièrement intéressés par ces deux paquets deservices fournis, parce que ça marche vraiment.
– Comment le savons-nous ?
– Eh bien, nous avons recueilli quelques données, bien que très difficilement, sur le retour des informations en rapport avec ces deux services.
Nous avons aussi lancé un nouveau site Web www.haiti-tenders.org qui est dirigé par le MCI. D’ailleurs, nos sessions de formations hebdomadaires, d’informations et de mise en réseau sont maintenant menées par le MCI. L’annuaire gratuit en ligne de plus de 3,700 entreprises, Peace Dividend Marketplace-Haïti, continuera à être disponible au moins jusqu’au 30 septembre 2012, à l’adresse Internet actuelle : http://haiti.buildingmarkets.org/.
