Snapshot: MSMEs in Building Markets’ Colombian Network

This snapshot examines the current network of Micro, Small and Medium sized Enterprises (MSMEs) operating in Colombia . As of February 2024, Building Markets verified 746 MSMEs operating across 19 sectors in three regions, the majority (98%) of which are owned by or employ vulnerable populations, including 44% of businesses led by or employing Venezuelan migrants and internally displaced people. While Venezuelan business owners face unique challenges, they have the potential to be significant job creators and are more likely to employ vulnerable populations, which has far-reaching benefits for both the newcomer and host communities.
