Satwik Seshasai, PhD
Satwik Seshasai, PhD (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) has served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for a number of companies that have used technology and data to drive social and economic impact in different industries. He currently serves as CTO for Atria Health, an organization focused on bridging the gap between science and medicine through proactive, preventative healthcare. He previously was at ClearCo (funding for small businesses with a focus on diverse founders), Compass (platform for helping real estate small business owners grow their business), Spring (distribution platform for fashion and beauty business owners), Segovia (cross-border payments platform for suppliers in sub-Saharan Africa), and NextDocs (cloud platform for increasing safety & quality and accelerating drugs to market). Prior to this, he spent 10 years at IBM culminating as the Program Director of Engineering for IBM SmartCloud, a role in which he helped acquire and integrate multiple small businesses in the cloud computing space. Dr. Seshasai has degrees from MIT in computer science, electrical engineering, technology and policy, and engineering systems. His PhD research took him to Nairobi and Abu Dhabi to study socioeconomic systems related to technology development. He’s thrilled to serve as a director on the Building Markets board to put his academic and professional experiences to work in service of strengthening small businesses worldwide.
